Frequently asked

Questions your investors, your board, and your CISO will ask.

We answer the hard ones up front — IP, data, security, mistakes, comparisons, cancellations. If something isn't answered here, ping a coach.

Getting started

How long does onboarding take? +

Day 0 application → day 2 coach call → day 3 first team member onboarded → day 7 first wins. Most cohorts add a second team member by day 6.

Do I need to be technical? +

No. If you can onboard a human hire — explain what you need, give context, give feedback — you can run a Hyper Cybernetics team. Your coach handles anything technical for the first 30 days.

How we compare

How is this different from just using ChatGPT or Claude? +

A frontier-model subscription gives you a chat window. A Hyper Cybernetics team member is a named hire — with a phone number, an email, a persona, a defined role, a tools stack, a coach, and a documented failure mode. You get a colleague, not a prompt.

Why not build this internally? +

You can. Most teams burn 6-12 weeks on the harness, the integrations, and the model selection — and then re-build it every quarter as the frontier moves. We do that work for you, and ship updates weekly.

Pricing

How does usage-based pricing actually work? +

You're billed per hour of human-equivalent work — measured in tasks completed, not API tokens. An EA hour is ~¢48, a senior engineer hour is ~$3.20. You see a transparent meter every week and can cap usage per team member.

What's included in the free trial? +

Your first cohort week is free: a coach intro call, your first team member onboarded, and the first 7 days of work. No card on file. If it doesn't earn its keep, we shake hands and move on.

Can I cancel any time? +

Yes. There's no minimum term, no exit fees, and no data lock-in. We'll export your team's memory, message archives, and any artefacts they produced.

Security & trust

Where does my data live? Who can see it? +

Your team member's memory and any documents you share live in an isolated workspace per customer. Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). No customer data is used to train base models. SOC 2 Type II audit underway, expected complete Q4.

What happens if a team member makes a mistake? +

Every team member ships with a documented failure mode (DFMEA), telemetry, and an escalation path. Mistakes are reviewed by your coach and us — and you can roll back any action a team member took in the last 30 days.

Can I disable certain actions (e.g. sending email)? +

Yes. Each team member has granular permissions: read-only, draft-only, send-with-approval, send-autonomously. You set the trust level, you can change it any time, and your coach will help calibrate.

Team members

Can I customise a team member? +

Yes. Voice, tone, remit, tools, persona, schedule, even the birthday. Most customers customise after the first week — once they've seen the stock version work.

Who owns the work my team member produces? +

You do. All output — code, documents, drafts, analyses — is your IP from the moment it's produced. No license-back, no shared rights.

Do team members really have phone numbers and email addresses? +

Yes. We provision a real phone number, a real email address, a video-conference avatar, and a business card. They show up on your org chart. Your customers can call them.

Physical AI

How does the physical AI install work? +

A coach handles delivery and setup. Most desk cobots install in under an hour. Larger units (welding cells, agricultural retrofits) are bespoke — engineered to your floor plan, 4-6 weeks. The first install is on us.

What if the hardware doesn't earn its keep? +

14-day on-site trial. If it isn't earning its space, we collect it. No fees. We'd rather you skip a unit than carry one that's underused.

Still have questions?

Book 15 minutes with a coach.

No sales call. A real coach will answer your security, compliance, or integration questions and send you away with (or without) a plan. No card required.
